Third baseman David Wright had 2 base hits and 5 RBI as the Caracas Leones
crushed the Chicago Colts 13 to 1.
Caracas jumped on top to stay in the top of the 3rd inning scoring 3 runs
utilizing 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Carlos Pena got things
rolling when he delivered a base-hit. One out later, Elijah Dukes came up
and he drew a walk. Milton Bradley then drew a walk to load the bases.
Wright was up next and he banged out a single. J. Saltalamacchia came to the
plate and doubled. That scoring would be all that was needed. Caracas had
13 hits overall, while Chicago had 6.
Tim Lincecum(14-7) went 7 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. Braden
Looper(6-8) took the loss. His biggest problem was control as he allowed 6
walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.
With this win, Caracas has a 65-50 record. They have been 7-3 lately. With
this loss, Chicago has a 6-4 record of late, 61-54 overall.
